Cittaslow

Cittaslow, which is a combination of Italian “citta” (city) and English “slow” words, is used to mean ‘slow city or quiet city’. The main purpose of the Cittaslow movement, which started in Italy, is to live in a more humane, more environmentally friendly manner, respectful to the past, present and future generations, by feeling the historical, cultural and environmental heritage brought by the past, to the fullest and taste of everything without rushing. Caring about the city you live in, people living or visiting there, protecting the environment, highlighting local features and products, opposing the sameness of all cities and supporting each city with its own uniqueness are the basis of this thought. Cittaslow is a way of thinking. All quiet cities use the snail logo, describing slow, environmentally friendly and confident progress.

LLefka, with its rich historical, cultural and natural values, has a great potential for Cittaslow and has been a member of the Cittaslow network, where life is beautiful, since 2015. Lefka awaits its visitors like a hidden treasure waiting to be rediscovered. The slogan chosen for the Lefka Cittaslow development tells a lot: GREEN LEFKA, CALMNESS IS IN ITS NATURE!
